Michelle Owen started her career in the graphic arts field and did that until she had children and
quit her job to stay at home to raise them. She started out as a hobby baker and
got a lot of practice doing cakes for friends and family. In time, she started to sell cakes and that's
how the business started. She currently works full time for a nonprofit that serves
the senior community of Collin County. She has also made rescuing dogs a life mission (has rescued 14 since 2016).
Even though she only does cakes part time now, every dollar goes straight to the expenses
of the veterinary, prescription and food expenses of the rescues. Read more about
the dogs below and know that your tasty treat purchase benefits more than just your tastebuds!

BELLA
Having been my first dog, she was the “princess”. She came from a breeder, is AKC
registered and has been my healthiest dog (and cheapest!) of the entire pack. Bella loves sitting in her kiddie pool full of water, yet is very reluctant to cooperate for a bath.
She will always be “my first” and considered one of my children. She’s now a senior lady who just wants to sleep all day.
Bella has seen 13 other dogs come, pass away, and new ones enter into the herd. Sometimes I'm sure she gives me the side eye.. But she will always be my first and best.
PHOEBE
Phoebe came to me through a Rescue group. I had applied to adopt an English bulldog that they had, but that dog was already spoken for. The rescue offered for me to take Phoebe and I was so glad I got the second choice. Phoebe is a boxer mix and has such a beautiful face and white shaped “arrow” that runs down her neck.
She is currently being treated for Congestive Heart Failure and I hope to have as much time as I can get with her through medication management. She is pushing six years old (been with me for four), she keeps up with the puppy play and she is notorious for not being able to “hold her licker”.
MAXIMUS
This big boy (almost two years old and 102lbs!) came to me from the same rescue as Sasha. He has a cleft lip and his cleft palate has begun to close with his incredible growth. I love the
teeth he has growing out of one nostril. He is one of those “gentle giants” you’ve heard about. He’s the largest of my current clan, and he likes to think of himself as a
puppy because he has no idea that he stands so tall and weighs so much. He was my early Christmas present in 2023 and now I wish I’d tried a giant breed sooner!
He and the rest play hard, walk fast and keep me on my toes.
SASHA
Sasha came to me through a rescue as a breeder surrender. She was only 13 weeks and had double cherry-eye and a funky little tail that made her “unsellable”. I’ve discovered that her little straight-but-crooked tail is the cutest thing about her, except for
the heart that appears on her forehead.
She might be little, but she plays with the big boys like she’s the biggest one in the house. She is now over 2 years old and I’m sure she’ll be sassy as long as she lives.. She is a queen at side eye and telling you her opinion in a variety of ways.

DAISY
Daisy is another one of those pit bulls that get a horrible wrap as she (along with Watson and Zeus) are three of the most lovable dogs ever born. She was found pregnant, tied to a tree at a dog park last winter. She eventually had 12 puppies, 10 of whom survived. They all found homes, but mama was left behind. She was luckily in a foster care home, but again, how do I resist? She is currently under treatment for heartworm and cannot have much walk or play time. But once she's done, she'll be a leader of the pack!

WATSON
What a story this is. He is still a pup (less than a year old) and was hit by a car out in the middle of nowhere, Texas. I saw a plea on Facebook from the woman who found him. He was literally a skeleton covered in fur, with two broken legs staying alive only on leaves and rainwater.
He's since had one leg amputated and will probably need a hip replacement on the other leg. He's put on 20+ pounds and is learning to walk as a tripod dog. His sheer will to live made me say "of course I'll take him!"

ZEUS
I saw Zeus on the euthanasia list for the Dallas Animal Shelter. He literally had 24 hours. His fur looked grey and had long narrow patches of scabs where buckshot or bbs must have hit him. There was no way I was going to let him be put down after being let down so violently by humans. I’ve never had experience with a Pitbull, but he has turned out to be a sweet and gentle dog that has boundless energy, is a professional cuddler and
loves to go on long walks with Maximus and me. And yes…. they take ME for a walk.

WINSTON
I saw a post on the Plano Animal Services site that showed this old, blind and half starved English Bulldog that had been surrendered by a homeless man. I knew that by his condition, he would not be getting adopted any time soon. So I went to get him and he has become the token "Grandpa" of the herd due to his blindness, lack of hearing anything lower than 100 decibels and running into a lot of walls.
He is living out the rest of his life with good food, good vet care and a soft place to sleep away the days.
